Status Update + Changelog (Build 2.3)

After the release of Build 2.2, I decided to take a break from development until we reached 1000 views on Itch. We are now at around 1800 views in total!! Thank you all so much for deeming my project interesting enough to, at the very least, give it a look. And to the people who have gone as far as to play the game in your browser 440 times and download the game over 100 times, I *especially* thank you!!

I'm releasing this update now both in order to give you all a little something during an inactive couple months, but also to tell you all about my "plans" for the game going forward. Truth be told, I went into this project not intending to continue past West Blue. Game development, even in an engine as easy to grasp as RPG Maker, takes a long time. I'm a person who jumps from project to project on a whim, and if it's a hobby project I'm working on, I don't force myself to work on it if I'm not in the mood. I'm not saying the Grand Line isn't a possibility, though it's honestly not very likely.

However, and this is the good part: I am OBSESSED with the world building and characters I've created with One Piece: Starboard. Even when the game halts development, I will still continue to expand upon this story I've crafted. I'm not gonna beat around the bush here, so far the universe of One Piece: Starboard has:

- All islands in Ori and their crew's adventure planned

- All of Ori's crew members planned

- 70+ brand new Devil Fruits conceptualized

- All 4 Emperors filled out

- All 3 Marine Admirals filled out

- A new Fleet Admiral

- 3 new races of intelligent life

- 20+ One Piece characters killed in cold blood

- Much much MUCH more, the Google Doc has passed 110 pages at this point, I think I have a problem

Even if the game comes to a close, unfortunate as that may be, I'd be remiss not to continue what I've started in some form. Vive la Starboard!!!

With that out of the way, when will Build 3.0 release? That I cannot answer, it all depends on when I feel like working on it. Oxport is shaping up to be the biggest undertaking of the entire game, mostly due to the island's very particular infrastructure. What I *will* say is that the island has been mapped out, and I have a rough outline of how I want the plot to play out.

I'm open to all you guys' feedback, and hope to by the end of this project be happy with what I've made. So far I would absolutely say I am. Thank you so much for reading, I've held you for long enough, here's the update:

Changelog (Build 2.3):

- Replaced Apollo's dialogue aboard the Galileo with some useful exposition for newer players who wanna read up on One Piece lore, or just for those that want a refresher (though for those interested in Starboard lore specifically, there's some new stuff sprinkled in there as well ;))

- Fixed the collision aboard the Galileo. Should've done more testing there, I admit, but it's late enough into the game that hopefully not many people noticed

- Changed the roof designs of all the houses on Hayai Island and Rabola. I've learnt a lot about tiling while developing the game, and at some point those roofs started haunting my nightmares. Hopefully now they look better

- Changed the design atop Christoff's lighthouse. Some weird shadows were cleaned up, the roofs were changed to reflect the aforementioned roof revolution, and I specifically moved one of the windows in the daytime version. Not sure it's even visible in-game, but it would drive me insane to let the daytime and nighttime versions have such a minor difference

- Cleaned up two tiles on the side of the lighthouse on the Hayai overworld

- Added a grand total of *one* shadow tile to the exterior of the High-Cs General on Hayai Island

- Added more details to the summit of Rabola. Somehow never realized why it looked so iffy to me, turns out it just wasn't nearly finished

- Changed like...two tiles of the world map's invisible borders

- When inspecting Ichiban's wanted poster, Lora now says he has narcolepsy instead of hypersomnia. My bad y'all, should've looked into the difference between the two

- Fixed an oversight where some of Ori's text boxes during the Namakubi fight didn't include their name. How this went unnoticed for this long is beyond me, I noticed it after I'd already uploaded the new builds to Itch and had to do it all over again with this fix to save my pride. Fucking, XD man

- Updated the game's credits to include links to each creator's homepage

- Retook the screenshots on the Itch page to fit with the changes
